A necessary element of any successful design is the ability to properly test that design in an application.
Del West has been successful in marrying a talented engineering staff that can provide original design concepts and modern test labs to prove these concepts are viable solutions.
Through our focused concentration on valve train development, we have acquired an intimate understanding of this critical part of the engine.
At Del West, we have the resources to evaluate and develop modern high performance valve trains:
- The latest software for computer modeling techniques.
- Full instrumentation on all testing equipment.
- Bench rigs for unfired tests.
- Fully instrumented dynamometers for fired engine tests.
- Highly trained engine design and testing staff.
We believe in applying the basic principles of engine design with the use of light weight valve train components that have been refined in racing applications.
Many of the principles, techniques, and philosophy apply equally to a racing engine or a high output series production engine.
In either application, the use of lightweight reciprocating components along with high global stiffness will result in a more efficient system.
Whether it is parameters imposed by rules in racing or by cost restriction for series productions; our goal is constant - the design and development of efficient valve trains with high stiffness and the minimal reciprocating mass.
