Over 20 years later, Del West offers a racing product line which has made the company the undisputed world leader in lightweight valvetrain components.  The company's pioneering in metallurgy; coatings, manufacturing techniques and design have been highly instrumental in the technology which has seen the operating speed of engines nearly double since the first Del West lightweight valves were produced. 

In the mid 1980s, Del West ceased its aerospace work, becoming wholly dedicated to the advancement of racing technology for clients which, both then and now, include virtually all of the engine manufacturers in Formula One, CART, the Indy Racing League and Indy Lights as well as for almost every manufacturer in touring car and GT/Prototype racing.  Our Customers also include countless private engine builders in NASCAR, drag racing and many other segments of the sport. 

In 1996, Del West opened a second manufacturing plant and engineering research facility in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland.  This facility has grown tremendously since its inception with only 2 employees and now has over 70 people.  It has added a strong capability to provide design consultancy and testing in the valvetrain and beyond.  Del West now maintains valvetrain testing equipment in both the United States and Switzerland as well as dynamometers in the Swiss facility. 

Collectively, Del West facilities encompass more than 80,000 square feet (8,800 square meters) dedicated to state-of-the-art research, design and manufacturing, and the privately held company employs over 220 people.
